UPDATE (12/04/2012): The UNCRPD failed to pass 61-38 (it needed two-thirds).

On Thursday, July 26, the United States’ Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and moved this dangerous treaty on to the Senate floor for a final vote. The Senate is planning to leave for summer recess on August 3. It is important that we seek to delay a full Senate vote on the CRPD until after the recess. This will give senators more time to understand the full ramifications of this threat to our sovereignty, national security, and domestic rights.

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats, and will threaten parental decision making for children with disabilities.
