When James and Linda Roberts’* teenage daughter Emily started staying up late into the night on the internet, they decided to set up time restrictions.

Emily became upset at her parents. She then expressed her frustration to her teenage friend, who decided to report the Roberts to child protective services. James and Linda were shocked when CPS showed up at their door. As members of Heritage Defense, though, they knew what to do. They immediately called the Heritage Defense 24/7 hotline and were connected with an attorney. The attorney spoke with the CPS investigator, who then left.

From there, the Heritage Defense attorney handled all contact with CPS. The Roberts family did not hear from CPS again until a month later when they received a letter stating that all the allegations were unfounded and the case had been closed.
